Who we are
WorkCompTeam is a Florida-focused referral service for contractors seeking workers’ compensation coverage. We are not an insurance carrier, and we are not a licensed insurance agency. We collect the details of your operation and pass them to a licensed insurance placement partner who can quote high-risk Florida workers’ compensation. Coverage, eligibility and pricing are determined by licensed carriers and the state of Florida — not by us.
What we collect
We only collect what you type into a quote request form. That is:
- Your name
- Your business name, if you give one
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your trade or industry
- Your city
- Roughly how many employees you have
- What you need — a new policy, a renewal, a certificate, and so on
- Anything you write in the message box
Our server also records the date and time of the submission and the IP address it came from. That is standard web-server logging and is used to block abuse and spam.
What we do not collect
- We do not run advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels on this site.
- We do not ask for and do not want your social security number, date of birth, bank details or payment card details. Never enter those on this site.
- We do not buy or append data about you from outside sources.
Why we collect it, and who receives it
We use your information for one purpose: to get you a workers’ compensation quote review. To do that, we share the details you submit with a licensed insurance placement partner, who contacts you about coverage. We do not sell your information to unrelated third parties, and we do not distribute it to a list of buyers.
Consent to be contacted
When you submit a quote request, you are asking to be contacted about workers’ compensation coverage. That means you agree that we, or the licensed placement partner we route your request to, may contact you at the phone number and email address you provided — including by text message — about your request. Message and data rates may apply.
You can stop this at any time. Reply STOP to any text, tell the person who calls you to remove you, or email us using the address below. There is no cost and no penalty for opting out, and doing so does not affect any coverage you already hold.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are retained for up to 24 months so we can answer questions about a request you made and meet ordinary record-keeping obligations. After that they are deleted. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will.
How it is protected
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type is encrypted in transit. Submitted requests are stored in a location that is not publicly reachable and is blocked from the public web at the server level. Access is limited to the people who handle quote requests.
No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you.
Your choices
- See what we hold. Ask, and we will tell you what we have on you.
- Correct it. If something is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask and we will remove your request from our records.
- Stop contact. Ask, and we stop calling, texting and emailing.
To use any of these, email the address below with the phone number or email you submitted so we can find your request. We will action it within 30 days.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may store ordinary technical items needed to display the page. There is nothing here that follows you to other websites.
Children
This site is for business owners. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
